Oslo Queer Festival be held at Indigo, Brenneriveien 9, 0182 Oslo
We will have both the downstairs hall and the gallery above from Thursday until Saturday and will retire to the gallery space for Sunday’s activities.
We want to create a space for everyone who wants to express themselves without regard to the limitations that many people experience in “normal” social contexts. Oslo Queer Festival will be a space for Radical Self Expression for artists, filmmakers, musicians, performers, and everyone who shares our desire to celebrate culture that goes beyond the limits of normative gender, sexuality, and personal expression in an open and welcoming atmosphere. We adhere to the principle of DIY (Do It Yourself), which means that this is a Festival Without Spectators! Everyone who comes to the festival is encouraged to participate in any way that they wish, be it volunteering with the Oslo Queer Festival organizers to help make everything run smoothly, showing up in a kick-ass costume, reading your poetry, screening your film, or just showing up as who you are!
Oslo.Queer is a non-profit organization, run by volunteers, that uses any profits from events to hold even more events. The festival will last for 3 days with the exhibition space open for 4 days. We have already planned a film evening, some performances, dj’s and bands.
WORKSHOPS
In addition to all of the partying and socializing, there will be plenty of opportunities to feed your brain and develop new skills!
We have workshops planned from 16.00–20.00 on Friday the 15th and from 13.00–18.00 on Saturday the 16th. Please let us know if you would like to hold a workshop of some kind to share your skills with us! We only have 4 hours on Friday and 5 hours on Saturday, so if you want to hold a workshop or discussion, let us now as soon as you can. We might try to keep some space free so you can decide on the day as well.
.
Café Queer
We will have use of the on-site kitchen, and are planning a café space to take care of everybody’s need to eat and drink during all of the busy work-shopping, discussing, and socializing.
The café will be open on Friday and Saturday from around 13.00, and we really need volunteers to help run the shop. Want to demonstrate your superior sandwich and coffee making skills? Get in touch!
We also need to decorate the café and would love to have posters and flyers from your queer events to fill up the café space with graphic evidence that we are everywhere! Got a zine you think café goers would dig... a queer manifesto...a page of poetry? Send them in the post to:

CALL FOR ARTWORK
We have a gallery space at Indigo for our use during the festival. We are open for any art, installations, films, short films, sculptures and photos. We know you are talented, come on, give it up!

SO COME ON!
We welcome everyone to our festival, and will do our best to arrange accommodations for people coming from out of town. We would love to help cover everyone's travel to the event, but cannot promise anything yet, since our budget is not finalized. Our goal is to make the festival as affordable as possible and as accessible as we can for everyone who wants to come.
Please keep an eye on our website for more info and a program closer to the festival:
